My Little Pony:
Season 9 Bingo Card Generator

Rules

  1. Get your friends to play with you, or this will be pretty sad.
  2. Pick a bingo card. Keep taking cards until you get one you like, they're all completely random. Save it and post wherever you like.
  3. While watching the show, cross boxes that apply and post the updated card. Hover your mouse over a box to see what counts.
  4. The "Free Hugs" box in the middle is always crossed — everypony gets free hugs!
  5. Whoever crosses five boxes in a row — vertical, horizontal or diagonal — wins.
  6. If you forgot what counts and what doesn't, check the reference below.

Reference

Most of the boxes should be obvious. However, from prior experience with Season 7, the few words that fit into a box are not enough to make it clear what counts and what doesn't. To prevent arguments between friends, we're laying out the rules in detail, in advance, wherever they are not trivially simple.

Some general rules:

  • Episode openings and credits don't count, ever.
  • Unless stated otherwise, the item, character, object or location mentioned in the box must appear on screen. Flashbacks, imaginary sequences and in-world media, like portraits, also count, but simply being mentioned in speech or writing does not.

Free Hugs!

Free hugs for everypony! This box is always in the center of the card and starts out crossed.

Abyssinians

Housecats and wild cats do not count, must be an actual civilized, talking cat.

Ancestral lands

Any clear information on the territory ponies came to Equestria from, as described in the Hearth's Warming Eve play, or a clear refutation that this exodus is a historical event.

Anti-princess sentiment

Any expression of opposition to the rule of alicorns in principle counts, whether verbal or through action. A pony simply disagreeing with Twilight or not recognizing that she's a princess is not enough.

Background Pony Episode

The episode must not give the Mane 6 nor Spike any speaking lines to qualify.

Bright Mac Sibling

Any mention of any sibling of Bright Mac or indirect evidence that Granny Smith had more than one child qualifies.

Canterlot Friends

Any of Twilight's Canterlot Friends except Lyra (Moondancer, Twinkleshine, Minuette, Lemon Hearts) must get a speaking part.

Changeling Relapse

A skittlebug returns to the diet of classic changelings. Must actually do or attempt to do anything related to stealing love on screen to qualify, but succeeding at it is not required.

Chrysalis Redemption

Chrysalis does a heel-face-turn. Does not have to result in a transformation or be permanent, but must be seen by other characters as sincere.

Court of Law

Any mention of ponies having a legal system not requiring a princess to judge them is sufficient. This is actually much rarer than it sounds.

Daring Do

Must have a spoken line, flashbacks and imaginary sequences don't count.

Death

A named character must unambiguously die, whether on-screen or not, to qualify. Revealing that they died long ago also qualifies, but only if they have speaking lines on screen. Staying dead subsequently is not required.

Derpy

Or whatever her name actually is.

Diamond Tiara

Must have a spoken line. Flashbacks and imaginary sequences count.

Djinn

To count as djinn, a character must be a sapient spirit granting wishes at the behest of a summoner. Lamp or absence of legs is not required. Succeeding at granting wishes is not required either, just the intent to grant them. Must be a new character.

Donkey nation

Getting a solid name for any country or territory where donkeys are the majority of the population counts.

Earth Pony Flight

Helicopters, airplanes and other heavier-than-air aircraft must appear on screen. Airships do not count.

Explicit Ship

Human

Human in Equestria, not transformed. Flashbacks and imaginary sequences count, but the actual human must be present in Equestria, rather than any representation.

Journalists

Mentions, flashbacks and imaginary sequences do not count.

Kaiju

Any kind of giant creature, whether a character or not. Must be at least as tall as the Ponyville town hall.

Lauren Faust

Any kind of unambiguous mention counts, including swearing by Faust in any fashion.

Limbo

Must be interacted with over the course of the episode or flashback, but not necessarily shown on screen as such. (It's Limbo, there's supposed to be nothing to show.)

Livestock character

A character with spoken lines that is a sheep, cow, or any other farm animal species. Ponies, of course, don't count.

Lovecraftiana

Something that can be clearly identified as originating in Lovecraft's mythos. Shoggoths only count when mentioned by name. Abstract tentacle monsters only count if seeing them is damaging to the character's mental health.

Mane 6 SO

Any Mane 6 member gets a boy/girlfriend, or at least starts a reciprocated relationship. The relationship does not have to last or survive to the end of the episode to qualify.

Megan Williams

Counts regardless of being ponified for depiction or not, but must be clearly identifiable.

Minotaur Land

Getting a solid name for any country or territory where minotaurs are the majority of the population counts.

Mirror Pool

Must be involved in the story due to its magical properties, rather than simply appear as a location.

Movie Character

Any My Little Pony Movie-exclusive character that had lines in the movie must appear on screen, flashbacks and imaginary sequences count. Equestria Girls characters don't count.

New Myth

A name, place, monster or deity from human mythology (Tartarus, Limbo, kirin, griffon are examples) previously not seen on the show must appear.

New technology

Episode must involve the introduction of a technology new to the ponies, rather than just show technology we have not previously seen on screen.

New Zebra

Any zebra character that is not Zecora counts, named and with lines or not.

Nobility

Someone must explicitly have a noble title, but not be a ruler of a nation to qualify for this. (Countess Coloratura doesn't qualify, Princess Celestia does not qualify, Prince Blueblood does.) It does not have to be an Equestrian noble title. Alicorns don't count.

Obvious Toy

Toy must actually exist. Something that looks like a toy, but was never released as such, does not count. Only things that did not appear in previous seasons count, i.e. the Crystal Empire playset doesn't.

Pinkie Clones

Not necessarily any of the clones that originally came from the Mirror Pool. Should Pinkie get cloned again, they will count too.

Pony Boxing

All physical combat sports also count, including wrestling.

Pony Gangsters

Any kind of organized or career criminal counts, whether they actually exist or are just imagined by other characters.

Pony on Earth

Radio or TV

Flashbacks and imaginary sequences don't count. Post-TV technologies, like the Internet or equivalent, also qualify. May be magical in nature.

Student Six

Any of the six must appear on screen. Flashbacks and imaginary sequences count.

Sunset Shimmer

Including tendrils and cuttings, provided they're explicitly of the Tree of Harmony. Castle of Friendship does not count.

Time Travel

A time travel event must occur within the episode to qualify, whether directly or in a flashback.
